맨유 유망주 그린우드, 여친 성폭행 혐의로 체포

맨체스터 유나이티드(이하 맨유)의 메이슨 그린우드(20)가 여자친구를 성폭행 및 폭행한 혐의로 경찰에 체포됐다는 현지 보도가 나왔다. 
 
AFP통신은 30일(현지시간) 맨체스터 경찰의 발표를 전했다. 경찰은 "폭행 사건을 신고한 여성이 SNS에 올린 영상과 사진으로 수사를 시작했다"고 밝혔다. 
 
경찰은 혐의를 받고 있는 가해 남성의 이름을 공개하지 않았다. 그러나 그가 그린우드임은 금세 밝혀졌다. 이 여성은 그린우드의 여자친구로, 인스타그램에 그린우드에게 폭행당했다고 주장하며 입술에 피를 흘리고 몸에 멍이 든 사진을 올렸다. 녹취도 함께 업로드했으나 이후 삭제했다. 
 
맨유는 "어떤 종류의 폭력도 용납하지 않는다"며 "그린우드는 추후 공지가 있을 때까지 훈련과 경기에 복귀하지 못한다"고 발표했다.
